About Chevy

Chevy is one of America’s most influential automotive brands. Established in 1911 in Detroit, Michigan, it was considered the answer to Ford, whose cars and trucks had captured significant market share over the previous decade, and by 1929 Chevy had become so formidable that it surpassed Ford for the very first time. Its Corvette and Camaro were some of the first American sports cars to seriously challenge Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and even Ferrari, Europeans brands which had dominated the international racing circuit for decades, while also manufacturing comfortable yet heavy duty pickup trucks such as the CK and Silverado.

About Chevy Cobalt

The Chevy Cobalt is a car which is compact and was first introduced in 2004. It is considered the successor to the Cavalier and comes in both sedan and coupe variants, as well as a sport version named Cobalt SS. It uses the GM Delta platform, and the coupe comes with two doors while the sedan comes with four. The Chevy Cobalt was assembled in two plants, the first of which was in Lordstown, Ohio while the other was located at Ramos Arizpe in Mexico. The EPA or Environmental Protection Agency in the USA designated it a subcompact vehicle. The suspension in front is independent, utilizing MacPherson struts, with a torsion beam in the rear that is semi-independent. It comes in multiple engine types including an Ecotec which is 2.2 liter and capable of generating 148 horsepower or 110 kW.

Common Chevy Cobalt A/C Problems

One owner stated that they had problems with their air conditioning, which mechanics believed was the result of a wire issue.  However, additional investigations discovered that the Chevy Cobalt developed a problem involving its drain tube which is connected to the A/C. The tube became clogged, which led to water leaking in the floorboard on the car’s passenger side. This leak resulted in multiple fuses blowing out which in turn led to electrical failures. The tube had to be cleaned and once the necessary repairs were completed the vehicle was safe to use and Chevy was notified.
